About Us

A nationally recognized 501 (c)(3) not-for profit organization, Vision Literacy trains volunteers to tutor adults in basic literacy skills.

Vision Literacy is the only literacy organization in Silicon Valley to meet all 16 rigorous quality standards required by ProLiteracy America. Indeed, we are proud to be one of only ten such library-based programs in California to be accredited by ProLiteracy as of 2005.

Vision Literacy relies heavily on some 200 volunteers, most working as tutors in 12 cities throughout Santa Clara County. Our programs feature individual and small-group tutoring sessions that focus on specific learner needs. Our learners' successes have changed their lives in countless ways.Tutors enrich our community by helping adults become empowered community members by increasing their literacy skills.

We also rely gratefully on contributions from our supportive funding sources. Won't you join them?
