Sunnyvale Tutor Planning Meeting
![]() Date: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 Time: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Location: Vision Literacy Office 540 Valley Way, Building 4 Milpitas, CA New Sunnyvale ESL Class Needs More Tutors!
Would you like to work with a group of tutors to provide English language instruction in a class setting? Vision Literacy has expanded its successful group tutoring approach to the north county with a new class in the Columbia neighborhood of Sunnyvale, and is looking for tutors to work with us on a regular or occasional basis. The class is coordinated by a lead tutor, and participating tutors are informed of the instructional activities planned for each week through email or our website. Our first night of class was a great success, with 46 students eager to learn! We have a great core group of tutors, but really need additional volunteers to give the students more personalized attention. Whether you can join us for one evening or for the whole series, please consider this important tutoring opportunity. It is a wonderful opportunity for experienced tutors to mentor new volunteers, and a great place for new tutors to learn more about effective instruction in a supported environment. The class meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Columbia Middle School library in Sunnyvale. If you are interested in being part of our cadre of tutors for this class please contact Melanie Daniels at 408.676.7323 or via email at mdaniels@visionliteracy.org. We are having a planning meeting to discuss curriculum for the coming weeks on Wednesday, February 22, from 7:00 to 8:30PM in Vision Literacy's Milpitas office, as there is no class that night. Please contact us if you plan to attend so that we may have enough materials for everyone. We hope you can join us! |
